Yardarm Limousin Stud Close

Yardarm Limousin Stud was established by Jane Bellinge in 1986 with the purchase of 13 cows. The herd now numbers over 100 pure-bred and pure French females. Our selection criteria focuses on good temperament, structural soundness and strong growth, particularly at the 400 day weight.

Extensive AI and ET programmes held over the years has led to a variety of inflences within the herd. These culminated in the success of Yardarm Don Quixote who won the Supreme Limousin Exhibit and the Interbreed Champion Bull at the Perth Royal Show in 1997, and the Supreme Champion Exhibit at the Limousin National Show and Sale at Wodonga in 1998. The influence of Don Quixote has also been significant in the Yardarm Herd as sire of Yardarm Ulysses.

Even though Yardarm Limousins has participated infrequently in the show ring over the years we have never been beaten in a breedplan class. Our efforts have concentrated more on the production of commercially successful bulls, females and calves than show successes.

Yardarm Limousin bulls are used extensively over our commercial females to produce the calves which supply Barleyfield Beef.

In our eyes, our results with Barleyfield Beef speak for themselves. The results are on the plate. For more information contact jane@barleyfield.com.au.
