Barleyfield Beef is premium quality
grain-fed beef, bred and nurtured on the Barleyfield farms in
Gingin. All Barleyfield beef is hung on the bone prior to being
cut up. This process naturally increases the tenderness and
flavour in the meat.
Minimum Orders and Packaging
The Minimum order for free home delivery
is $330. There are three options available: Select one of
the packages available in the beef packages outlined below.
Select bulk packs from our "other products" list or put together
a pack of your own - "a la carte" from our order form and
price list.
ECONOMY OPTION @ $8.10/kg:
The most economical option in purchasing
the beef is currently $8.10 /kg carcase weight for a minimum
order of half a side. This 1/4 of a body is sold at the wholesale
rate inclusive of carcase bone. The weights of these quarters
will vary during the course of the year between approximately
40kg and 60kg and costs approximately $325-$485. The amount
of meat you will receive is entirely dependent on your quarter
size, however as a guide, a 50kg quarter will fill about 6.5
shopping bags full of meat and a further 1.5 bags of bones.
Once it has been boned out the 1/4 should constitute between
approximately 70%-75% of edible meat which is packaged into
two person portions*. Each quarter consists of the cuts listed
below and will be packed with two steaks per pack, 0.50kg/pack
of mince and sausages, with the roasts being approximately 1.75
kg. We offer the option of having the silverside corned. The
sausages are made with gluten-free and msg-free mix and the
mince is high grade lean mince. Both sausages and mince are
preservative free and therefore need to be frozen in order to
protect their integrity. Some of the carcase bones are available
if requested, but delivery of these is not compulsory.
Each week we offer a variety of fat levels ranging from average
(similar to the level usually found at the butchers) down to
"super lean". The latter is appropriate for people
suffering diabetes, with cholesterol concerns or with aversion
to fat.
*This package does enable convenient
and equitable distribution if you chose to share orders with
friends, neighbours or relatives.
